Are reports true that you are really looking to deal the young Felix Hernandez ? If so, what are you looking at to acquire, and are you far in any negotiations ?

I think the Mariners are definately capable and have an opportunity to compete for the division crown this season. At this point, we believe are strengh is in the bullpen with three pitchers capable of shutting down at the end with closer JJ Putz, Julio Mateo and Kiko Calero (traded Jeremy Reed for)
We have brought in a more consistent first baseman in Paul Konerko who we feel can hit close to Sexsons power, but with a drastically higher batting average. We lost Beltre, but brought in our 2 bagger of the future in Ian Kinsler. The offense will depend if we can stay consistent without any true sluggers outside of Konerko and if Jose Guillen can live up to the billing. We know Ichiro is gonna hit well over .300 and give us an opportunity to score runs.
Outside of King felix, we think Jeff Weaver will be a good addition to complement the ace in a contract year. Our season will depend if we can get career years out of alot of our older and even younger players.
The rest of the AL West looks pretty weak. We dont see the rangers in the competition at all. The Oakland A's we don't think are in better shape but not great. Neither team looks to have a deep starting staff as neither do we. Right now, the preseason favorite has got to be the Angels but hopefully we can play our cards right.

With a potential future rotation of Homer Bailey, Nick Adenhart, John Danks, Noah Lowry, and Cesar Jimenez, what do you believe your team needs to add in order to be able to compete with the elite teams in the league?
