Ok so, here's the official Boston block. It's taken me a while to figure out what I wanted to put out there, but here is what I got:
2B Brian Roberts 2B Alex Cora SS Julio Lugo MR Hideki Okajima SP Castor Rubino 3B Chris Marrero (Is going to have a proposed edit of low-70's contact and 93 power) SP Barry Zito SP Jason Schmidt
Now, here's the deal. Roberts, Cora, and Lugo are all availible until one of them is dealt. Okajima, Rubino, and Marrero can all go in whatever deal. In terms of Zito and Schmidt, I want a better SP back. With these two, I'd be more inclined to package them up with either Lugo, Cora, or Roberts and get a sick SP back. And yes, you can deal a player after you signed them, OOTP does allow it.
My needs:
Another good SP An OF A C

Just because OOTP allows it doesn't mean we should. In MLB you can't trade a guy for 6 months, and I think that's fair.
A team with a lot of money can just sign everyone and then pawn then off.

That's the rule. It's to prevent the very situation I explained. Can you think of anyone that was signed, as a free agent (no extensions), and was subsequently traded?

Never had I. However, we never established this at the beginning, meaning it is fair ground for everyone. Now, I'm going to be stuck with Roberts?? If he's on my team, shouldn't I be able to do what I want with him? And 6 months doesn't make sense because that means you really can't deal him until the following season. And for the record, I was one of the teams with a fewer amount of money than most of the other teams in the league.

I'm not accusing you of trying to stockpile guys. I know you don't have a lot of money. I was just stating the rule.
And, if you sign a guy early enough in the winter, you can trade him that season in real life. Since we sim until February or whatever, it doesn't work in this league.
You're right, we never established it. I think we should now, starting next season.

The only time I've seen it used in real baseball is when teams wanna trade guys they just drafted, they have to deal them as a PTBNL until there eligible to move.
