Mariners get : SP Brett Anderson 1st round draft choice.(upcoming year)
Cubs get : CF Vernon Wells
Its the trade deadline, Wells wasnt going to return and arent really close enough in the wild card to make a move. This way we get a potential #3,4, 5 starter in teh future plus a 3rd first round selection (seattle, kc). Sucks that wells wouldnt resign, but atleast got something and good value

come on guys, this deal is bullshit. there is no way that wells is worth a 4.0 SP, and a draft pick that will eventually turn into another 4.0 player since cubs will fall in the mid 20's range for the draft. even if wells is a risk to resign and may only be a half a year rental, his value shouldnt be this low...i mean id give more for wells for just half a season than what the cubs have offered...

dude different people value picks differently. also the star ratings arent exactly right. anderson will be a very solid major leaguer. why dont you mind your own business and post only where you are allowef and that aint here cuz you have no part what so ever in this trade.

This one's getting a veto. Now I understand this is a typical deadline deal with a guy on a contract year and a larger contract. But, you can do better. Either way, Wells will be moved. This is so Seattle can get better value for a guy of Wells' caliber.
