Reportedly out of Oakland, there's huge interest in Hughes, then some interest in Jeter, any way either of those could be heading to Oakland?

Well, we feel Hughes will be a very special player in the future, so unless we are blown away with an offer we would like to keep him. jeter is available, but he has been great to New York his entire career that it would also take quite a bit to get him.

You guys brought Gary Sheffield back New York, after all the problems he had with your team in 2006, and then talking about you guys after the initial trade to Detroit. How do you think he will adapt to coming back, and how will he be accepted ?

under new management, we feel he will bring veteran leadership to our ball club. we told him that we feel he is the missing piece to the championship puzzle. once we get roger back, we will have excellent hitting and pitching

The Red Sox have been quite active making many moves and bringing in names like Jeremy Bonderman, Brad Wilkerson, Edison Volquez, and Chris Capuano. With Manny Ramirez among others departing and many new faces in the rivalry, has this storied rivalry lost some of its' flare? In addition, how close do you think this race will be this year and what are your thoughts on Boston's new look team?

Boston has a very nice team going into this year. However, the Yankees have dominated the division the past two decades and we plan on doing so. They'll win the wild card I bet, but we'll see who comes out on top in October (trying to sound biased toward Boston)

Who do you think will be a surprise team in the AL this year? In the NL?

I think the Indians and Athletics will have surprising years this season. They have put together solid lineups and also have decent hitting to compliment that. I would not be surprised if both of these teams made the playoffs. In the NL, I think the Brewers and Padres will be good because of the changes they amde in their hitting and pitching. They both got some big name players and could be in the hunt come October.

The yankees had a tough season last year being 22 games below .500. With really no farm team and an roster that isn't getting any younger what do you think the Yankees will have to do to reign over the AL. East once again??
